As Vast as the Sea: Ludum Dare #41 Entry

Picture

Erita has had enough of her life on her island and set sails one night to finally leave it all behind- only, when she wakes up, she finds she has left her entire world behind. Awoken by a mermaid, Erita finds herself in the underwater city of Ogygia, her new home. Help her find her place in this new world!

This was a long, trying Ludum Dare… between homework, classes, my IRL job, and family coming over, it was hard at times to concentrate along with the fact that my original scope was too large and had to keep downsizing it. As Vast as the Sea was by far my most ambitious Ludum Dare entry to date, I hope people will like the level of quality I was able to achieve in the time span and enjoy the story!

Now that my weekend break from That Which Binds Us is over, I’m ready to hop back on the otome train and finish it!

Ludum Dare #41: Day 1 – Friday Night

As always, I’m entering Ludum Dare, but this time I’m going for a more ambitious adventure / creepy RPG called As Vast as the Sea

As Vast as the Sea follows Erita, a young girl who goes adrift at sea only to wake up in an underwater world. Help befriend or begrudge merpeople as Erita tries to find a way home- or maybe find a new home.

This map thankfully isn’t permanent, it’s just a glance at Erita’s underwater world (which will soon be filled with much more than just sand and kelp). Well, I think a logo, cover art, MC sprite, and some screenshots are a good way to end my Friday night.

Now to go collapse on my bed.

No NaNoRenO Plans

Figured I’d make a post just to clarify, incase anyone was wondering- no, I don’t plan on entering NaNoRenO this year, despite wanting to. I think it’ll be best to save my month-long slots for VNs for later in the year once That Which Binds Us is finished (and when it gets closer to Yuri Jam and IGMC), and I just really don’t have the time for NaNoRenO. I’ve got my own projects to work on that I’ve already started and I have other people’s projects that I’m either helping with or working on as well, and that’s not to mention school work. So, while I do want to enter NaNo at least some time in the next few years, it won’t be this year.

Instead, I’ll be aiming to release some beta builds for That Which Binds Us!
